Lyn's Thoughts on Life

must be nice....

An excerpt from my mom's email to me this morning about yesterday's activities...they're in vegas for a week:

"We got tickets at $10 each to Mama Mia for tonite, then we took the shuttle down to the strip and spent the first 1 1/2 walking. The blocks on the strip appear short and the building close together, but that's only because they are so huge!! When you start walking, it can take 15 minutes to walk past 3 of these...We did walk through the Venetian - what a gorgeous huge place...and what neat stuff in the shops!! And then there are the "living statues" who just stand there on display, not moving!! The water shows are fabulous too - the fountains dancing to music at the ballagio; the volcano that erupts at the Mirage.. and on and on. We also went to see and antique car collection which Tony would have loved, I'm sure!! The Cirque show was beyond description - comedy, gymnastics, aerials, lighting, pyrotechnics, live band and singers - it was good!"

The Venetian, The Bellagio, The Mirage, Mama Mia, and a Cirque de Soliel show...Just an average day for retired snowbird fledglings (I call them fledglings 'cuz they only go south for a few weeks each winter, not a few months....)

yes, I'm still alive.... been having a bit of a funk since Christmas, probably mainly due to lack of sleep, part Danica and part me just staying up when I should be in bed (like now).

Not having a car for 3 weeks in December while it was getting fixed was also really hard. I guess I like my freedom and ability to come and go as I wish.

And now with the colder weather and with Danica in her permanently-in-the-car carseat, it's even harder to get out and about.

Sigh. I hope spring comes quickly.
