photo nut
I was all excited to post some photos of Angela & Russ's wedding today, but i realized that i didn't burn that set of pics to disk.
Last night i spent some time going through all the pictures I have taken on my digital camera since i got it in Nov '03....i realized i'm a picture nut! I have literally thousands of pictures, and after going through them to pick only the ones i MUST have printed, i have narrowed it down to 930 pictures.
Fortunately, there's a sale on at Superstore right now, and i can get prints for 12 cents each, so that will be a huge savings from the typical 25-30 per picture. I just hope they don't have a limit on how many 1 person can order, otherwise i'll be putting them in Anthony's name, my parents' names, my sister's name, and maybe even your name!!
Then after i get them all back, i get to write on them all - the date, occasion, and names of people (or places) in the picture, then put them into albums. Glad i'm not a scrapbooker, otherwise i'd never get done!

Good Deals!
I'm not sure if it's the Ukranian in me, or the Mennonite-ness into which I married (and which applies to many of my closest friends), but i LOVE a good deal.
Last night was the pinnacle of success for me in terms of finding good deals, and i just had to share about it.
Anthony's sister is getting married on Saturday, and as of last night, Tony had a suit jacket and pants to wear, but no tie or shirt. And i just don't think that would have worked for family pictures, so i set out to buy him something. He also needed a new belt, and i found a belt sale - 2 genuine leather belts for $25...so I got one for him and one for me! Then i set out to find a shirt, and found a decently nice grey one (black jacket, charcoal pants), for $20. AND the sign above it said 30% off last ticketed price! Yay - a shirt for $14. Next, the tie. Found a pile of ties for $13, again, 30% off....sweet stuff!
When i got to the cash register, it turned out the shirt was only $10! So altogether, i paid $21 for the shirt and tie.
After this fantastic event, i went to get some groceries. Wanting to get a snack, and knowing that my fave ice cream was on sale at Safeway, i headed in that direction. Well, it was my lucky night. I stumbled upon the clearance baked goods, and did i go nuts! For a total of $3 (TOTAL, not each item), i bought: 2 loaves of bread, 6 sub buns, 12 hamburger buns, a loaf of garlic bread (in foil to go in the oven), and six cheddar bagels. THen for another 99 cents, i bought a dozen Madagascar themed cupcakes, complete with toy rings for the characters from the movie stuck in the top!
Yay for deals! What's the sweetest deal you've ever gotten?

sigh.
i've been doing a lot of that lately.
Ya know the feeling when you're so streched/overwhelmed/busy and pulled in so many different directions that you are not able to do anything properly? I mean, it takes me SO long to focus and i'm just not efficient in my work.
Too many things going on, too little time to focus and regroup between tasks.
Thank goodness for the down times when i'm not at work, else i'd go insane!

i think i'm getting an ulcer
I am a worrier. I try hard not to, but this week has not helped.
Aside from the previous post, work has been incredibly hectic and stressful - usually it's busy, but not overwhelming. But this week, every day I have been going home and cannot turn work off easily, I end up thinking about it all evening.
And I am also working on the paper and presentation for that conference (yes, i'm staying home to go to the wedding), the paper was due last Sunday and is still not done. Fortunately I'm done my piece of it, so all I can do is sit and wait, but it is yet one more thing hanging over my head.
A friend of mine from work emailed me today, and said "I'm moving to Egypt to raise camels, want to come?" I said "Take me with you, when can we leave?" That about sums it up. Tho I can't stay in the heat for very long, and don't like sand anywhere but under my feet (i.e., not in my hair or on my skin), and don't like being spit on. Other than that, i'm sure my new life will be just dandy!

change.
most of you who know me well know that I do not deal well with change. It makes me anxious, it puts me on edge, i am not peaceful when change is occuring.
In the past 10 days, i have heard about at least two significant changes in people's lives that are going to directly affect me. Specifically, two different sets of people who are close to me are moving away. I'm not really ready to talk about it yet, as I don't know in one case if they've told all the people they need to yet, and I'd hate for someone to find out over this blog who should (and soon will) be told in person.
Just pray for me, though, that i can adapt and adjust and not be angry and cry all the time. And pray for them as a new chapter in their lives begins.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, bliss.
I don't know if there's anything that feels better in the middle of a dry-cold, Saskatchewan winter than hydration.
My lips are tingling from my medicated lip balm, they feel so juicy and plump (but not like hers), and....moist.
I LOVE slathering the lotion on my hands when I get to work, and putting on my face lotion every morning after the shower feels amazing.
Gotta love the little pleasures in life.
