woo hoo! I did it!

so after wanting to do this for months, i finally had some time on the internet away from work, where i can't spend the time to change my entire blog.....

so here it is! the new me! wow, if only every makeover was that cheap and the outcome was so sure! I had a bit of trouble getting the haloscan comments back, but i think everything is working properly now. if you find anything that's not, please let me know!!!

As I was listening to the radio this morning, I heard that Todd Bertuzzi got booed in his first game against Denver since the whole incident where he hit a guy and ended his career.

It got me thinking about forgiveness, guilt, anger, etc. and I had a thought....when the fans are that angry and hostile towards him, it almost gives him a reason to be angry back at them, thus turning whatever inward-focused feelings of guilt or regret he may have into outward focused emotions.

I guess what i'm trying to say is this....completely aside from this situation, do you think that a person who has done something "bad" would benefit from just being left alone with his/her own feelings of guilt which he/she would have to deal with, instead of being hounded and essentially being given an outlet for those feelings? I mean, if people are coming down on you hard for something, then you can feel justified in being angry and upset at them, and then your inward feelings of guilt can be ignored or turned into an outward anger...

I don't think i'm making sense. And i'm not trying to say it's this way all the time - guilt doesn't go away just 'cuz we're angry at someone else. but maybe, just maybe, if we just loved the wrongdoers, their own guilt would be punishment enough and more inward change would occur, than if we alienated them.

I am also not trying to say anything about prison sentences, justice, etc. for serious criminals....i'm speaking more to interpersonal issues where a person hurts another (physically, emotionally, mentally, etc), and our response to that person. I'm also not saying anything about whether or not Bertuzzi did what he did intentionally or not, or whether the suspension he faced was fair or not, whether he paid his dues or not. Just using that as an illustration.

What a great weekend...

So I spent the weekend up at Camp Kadesh (Christopher Lake) at a Mother-Daughter weekend with my MIL and SIL's.

Amazing food, great times with friends and family, beautiful weather (though a bit chilly), lots of canoeing, a bit of swimming (in the lake!!), hot-tubbing, scrapbooking, jungle swing-ing, sleeping, reading, games...

all in all, a very relaxing and refreshing time.

so, i was just listening to my launchcast radio station, and Third Day "wire" came on, followed directly by Lifehouse "You and Me" - MAN do those two singers sound similar!!!! I almost thought it was another third day song, until i realized what song it was!

i think it also has something to do with the similarity of the songs, they're very comparable in style, mood, and even melody (and i think they're even in the same key).

Lynette Needs...

Another fun blog idea, this time from Dixie, whom I've just started reading and really enjoy.

I know, it's not really a blog, as it contains no original thoughts of my own, but it's fun nonetheless. Is there a difference between the following two statements:

"We are in love with each other"

"We love each other"

I'd have to say thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year

looking forward to a great weekend of football, food, friends, and family.

oh, and a birthday, which should be better than the last. i don't think 26 will feel as awful as 25 did.
