a new level of craziness

So many of you have heard my tales of woe as of late...

Work is crazy, the boss has a bunch of stuff due NOW! Every day I run like a chicken with my head cut off, not having time even for breaks!

Then there's the addition of 15 lab members coming and going, and the testing of participants (over 100 people have been through our lab for experiments since monday).

Then the lack of sleep from working on that book index (which should hopefully be done after one more sleepless night). I figured out I have now had only 17 hours of sleep in the last 82 hours... (average of 5-6 per night, with even less anticipated for tonight).

And then on top of it all, for 8 hours a day, I get to listen to the construction project (banging, sawing, loud crass talk and joking, and the radio) from next door....

Well today, they even entertained me for a bit... Mid afternoon, we began hearing a lot more kerfluffle and swearing than usual....with many many people rushing around, rushing in and out of my office (without knocking or telling me why they were here!)....Turns out one of the guys had drilled right into a water main, and there was some severe flooding going on!

So they couldn't get the water turned off for about 10-15 mins, because they couldn't find the right valves, etc.....and it started flowing through the floor into the basement. WELL, right under my office is the main U of S Computer Technology services help desk, where they have TONS of computer equipment and the likes, so I guess it was just a mess down there...not sure of the extent of the damage down there....

so yah, it's crazy. And now i guess it's snowing/sleeting, and I rode my bike today. C'est la vie, i guess.

ack!

my job is a three-ring circus.

volunteers testing little first year students who show up 20 mins early; broken computers; construction next door (VERY noisy), trips to the hospital to test participants; computer fix-it-people coming and going!

ACK!!!

one thing i hate is this:

when you go to the washroom, and the last person to use the stall you're in was a smoker.

Who are you?

So there's one thing i wish for.

i wish that when i had a dream, and someone that I recognize/know is in my dream, that they would introduce themselves to me before continuing to be in my dream.

i have dreams, and i know the people in them from some time in my past, but cannot place them or remember their names, and then it drives me nuts for a few days, trying to figure out who they are!! ACK!

please pray

... that my car makes its annoying squeaking sound today at 3:30....

we have taken it to the shop three times to get it fixed, but each time, the sound mysteriously disappears when they test drive it. so i am taking the shop manager out on a little drive to see if i can point out the noise to him.

and our warranty runs out in 500 km, so we need it fixed ASAP!!!!

he drove it this morning, and it would NOT squeak for him at all.

for ladies only....

a very profound thought, that my friend Angela Brown (see new blog link above) had posted on her blog, and that I am stealing to post on my blog....

update...

well, it's been a while. life has been hectic and has not been on a regular schedule since before our trip. So now I am playing catch-up with sleep, laundry, cleaning, and people.

So I apologize if I haven't called or seen you in the last bit. Please don't think I don't love you or couldn't be bothered to call. I've just been a bit overwhelmed with life.

but things are slowly returning to normal, and I am looking forward to getting into more of a routine. Aside from work M-F, 9-5 (with lunches and coffee breaks, if anyone's interested in coming here to meet me for either!), I will be teaching piano Tues 5:30-6:30 and Wed 5:30 - 9:00pm; most likely helping with youth on Fri nites, and leading a young couple's small group (probably sunday nites).

So with that schedule, I am free Mon, Tues (later), Thurs, and weekends! Hope to connect with all of you soon!

summer memories

my favorite summer memories from this year: (not in any order, except for #1 was totally my #1 memory)

1. taking Ang on the zipper at the Ex - she screamed at the top of her lungs like someone was trying to kill her the entire time, and i just laughed and laughed and laughed. (actually the whole day at the ex was pretty fun)

2. the lake. - with candace, lyndon n kianna, with anthony's fam (except the thumb incident), with my fam, and with just the two of us.

3. jody's wedding (a girl from work) - it was just fun and relaxing.

4. my saturday morning with robyn, picking berries, at the farmer's market, and at starbucks (as well, the day that robyn finally found out she got her job)

What are your fave memories from the summer?
